Jann Mardenborough is an auto racing professional of the UK and he has earned an estimated net worth of $10 million. In 2011 Jann Mardenborough, started out as the youngest of the winners of GT Academy competition followed by more than 90,000 of contenders, who received the professional contract with Nissan.

Then, he had no history of participation in the racing events and for years, he trained himself on the PlayStation game version of “Gran Turismo”. Early Life

Jann Mardenborough was born on 09, September 1991 and he is from Darlington, County Durham, England. He is son to Lesley and Steve Mardenborough, and his father used to be a football player. Real name Janine, Jann was born in Cardiff and has a younger brother, named Coby.

In his interview Mardenborough stated that he always wanted to be a racing driver since HE was 5 or 6 years old, and he first played the racing video game called “Gran Turismo” at a friend’s house at the age of 8.

This was going on for weeks, and because this was his friend house he spent most of his time there, he was even given the game and play station at home. During his year off he discovered an online time trial for “Gran Turismo 5” it was a qualifier for the GT Academy with the winner being offered a professional racing contract.

From over 90000 persons, Mardenborough was among the 20 who qualified in his region and underwent through trainings and racing tests before getting to the final race. Jann was the winner of the 20-minute race at the Silverstone National Circuit driving a Nissan 370Z car that got him a professional racing contract with Nissan.

Career

Subsequent to emerging the winner of the GT Academy competition, Mardenborough went through a driver training and took part in national races which enabled him to meet the requirements of international racing license.

In the beginning of 2012 he drove a Nissan 370Z GT4 at the Dubai 24 Hour race where he came third in his class. The rest of the year, Jann competed in the British GT Championship driving a Nissan GT-R GT3 for RJN Motorsport.

He got a victory in one of the series with Alex Buncombe and finished at the 6 th spot in the GT3 championship. In 2013 he moved to formula racing and finished the season at the tenth position in New Zealand’s Toyota Racing Series.

The following year at Le Mans Jann drove for OAK Racing along with Mark Shulzhitskiy and Alex Brundle and they came fifth in the LMP2 but suffered a spark plugs issue. Mardenborough, the young Brit was the second in the 2014 Toyota Racing Series, before joining Arden International to contest in GP3 Series that same year.
