Ronald William Howard came into this world on 1st of March, 1954 in Duncan, Oklahoma. He is the first child of his parents “Jean Speegle Howard” and “Rance Howard”. His mother acted in television and movies, while his father worked as a director, script writer and actor.

Ron Howard younger brother Clint Howard would also later on find fame as an actor in his own right. The family then relocated to Hollywood, California in 1958 and they stayed at least three years before moving to Burbank.

Ron is an alumnus of John Burroughs High School and the School of Cinematic Arts, University of Southern California. Although, due to some reasons he could not successfully complete his college as thought he would to Graduate.

Howard married Cheryl Alley on 7th, June in the year 1975. SHE is now a writer who writes under the name Cheryl Howard Crew. Bryce Dallas Howard is the oldest child of them, she is also an actress and director by perfection.

Career

The young boy from Alexandria, Virginia know that he would soon become a very important person in the entertainment industry. His first credited film was in 1959 in a movie called The Journey. He then starred in episodes of The DuPont Show with June Allyson, Twilight Zone, Dennis the Menace, The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, and Cheyenne.

George Lucas coming of age film ‘American Graffiti’ became his first adult movie role in 1973. He later became popular as Richie Cunningham in the TV Series “Happy Days” and later in “The Shootist” in 1976 alongside John Wayne.

His last film performance was reprising his role as Opie Taylor in the made for television movie “Return to Mayberry,” a reunion of “The Andy Griffith Show” in 1986. He also was a guest of a couple of “Happy Days” TV cast reunions in 1992 and again in 2005. He received an honor in the Television Hall of Fame in 2013.

Howard officially became the director of the Star Wars prequel, “Solo: A Star Wars Story” (2018). The earlier directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller had been fired because they disagreed with Lucasfilm about how to make this particular movie.

Real Estate

Ron and Cheryl bought an apartment in the prestigious Eldorado Building in New York for $5.6 million in 2004, and it spanned 3,000 sq. ft. They then went on to invest yet another several million to the renovation. They actually put this apartment on the market for sale in 2017 at $12.5 million.

They dropped the price to $11.5 million but did not sell it and they still own it today as far as I know. They have a second property in New York City, a condominium bought in 2002 for $712,000.

The two in 2014 sold the 33-acre estate on a lake in Greenwich, Connecticut that they had been living for $27.5 million. In June 2006 they bought an ocean view apartment at Santa Monica, California for $ 2.75 million.
